As a key member of the Oman Shell Road Safety Task Force, Lead and manage the Oman Shell HSSE Road safety team, provide functional Road safety leadership across the Wells, Operations and Exploration business in B10, 11, 42 and 55Provide deep expertise to support the implementation of risk controls related the high-risk road transport operations across SDO operations in B10 for Wells and Operations, and Exploration activities in B11, 42 and 55Deliver technical HSSE support to Oman Shell Exploration team by identifying road transport hazards/risks, assessing impact, and working with the team to establish effective controlsSupport Contract HSSE Team and Contract Holders with executing contractor capability assessments for primary and secondary logistics by Contractor CompaniesAs key member of Oman Shell Road Safety Task force, drives cultural change in Road Safety, especially focused on Safe Driver and Safe Vehicle and Safe Logistics strategies toDeliver Shell Development Oman Venture HSSE & SP Control Framework Exception (LOD1) Assurance plan across Blocks 10, 11, 42 and 55Support Oman Shell Logistics and Safe Roads Team with HSSE implementation and set up of traffic control points/vehicle check points at different key sections of the roads for B10.  Support the onboarding, HSE training & coaching for in-field Road safety inspection teams to ensure compliance to local HSE regulations, standards, and Shell HSSE & SP Control FrameworkReview and update local Oman Shell Road Safety Standards, procedures and company guidelines when do for periodic review to ensure compliance to local HSE regulations, standards, and Shell HSSE & SP Control FrameworkDeliver End-2-End planning, implementation, and gap closure support for Oman Shell LOD Road safety assurance process (Audit).Conduct in-field and Contractor yard site visits to review contractor activities, verify contractors HSE systems, policies, standards, and tools are in place and effectively functioning and compliant with local HSE regulations, standards, and Shell HSSE & SP Control Framework.Experience in delivering Road Safety training and supporting incident investigationsDevelops and promotes implementation of best practices and key learnings in the field of logistics operations, and especially Road SafetyWhat we need from YouBachelor’s degree in HSSE, engineering or the sciences preferred15+ years of relevant experience, deep HSSE, or related discipline experience in the energy or petrochemical industryThe successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Risk management of road transport, HSSE leadership, extensive practical experience in implementing the HSSE Control Framework and delivering HSSE performance improvementPrevious experience in Contractor HSE Management including pre award and post award contractor HSE management as per Shell requirementsGood understanding of relevant HSSE & SP Control Framework requirements, OPAL, and International Road Safety standards.  Experience in leading or supporting HSSE incident investigationsStrong influencing skills to drive HSSE performance improvement through line and contractorsExperience in a leadership role, demonstrating the ability to deliver effectively through others, with strong stakeholder management skillsPrevious proven experience driving HSSE cultural change across business, including both operated and non-operated venturesStrong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and ability to build internal and external relationships based on trust and to integrate across multiple functionsAbility to translate HSSE initiatives into realistic, simple plans for the affected parts of the businessProven experience conducting LOD AuditsFluent in Arabic and English, with strong verbal and written skillCompany DescriptionShell has been a partner in Oman’s remarkable development and progress over the last several decades.
