In this role, you will be responsible for managing the IT team in Hamad Port and developing and maintaining a ‘fit-for-use’ IT strategy and Infrastructure (systems, solutions, and services), that supports QTerminals' global business strategy and objectives. The role is based in Hamad Port, Doha, and has a dual reporting line to the Managing Director of Hamad Port and the Group CEO. Job responsibilities (including but not limited to): Understand and link the group’s strategy and vision to the IT strategy to meet current and future business needs and establish a common, efficient, and secure ‘fit-for-purpose and fit-for-use IT environment. Lead the development and implementation of the group-wide IT operations, including infrastructure, application development, network, and support services, to ensure that the company has well-developed IT systems. Analyze business processes and requirements of end users to determine and address their IT needs and requirements. Identify and advise Management on opportunities for improvement, upgrades, configurations, new systems, and/or software to ensure optimum business support. Devise and establish an IT Framework (policies, processes, and systems) and develop, implement, and evaluate IT Projects. Oversee the development of the IT compliance framework and policies and ensure compliance through risk assessment to manage all potential threats/ risks to the IT environment which may subsequently have an effect on QTerminals operations. Lead the development and implementation of IT security and disaster recovery policies to ensure the continuous 24/7 operation, protection, and integrity of QTerminals computing and network infrastructures. Monitor and supervise IT change management processes to ensure successful implementation. Manage and coach the IT team and promote opportunities for growth and development. Build relationships and manage IT-related cost-efficient contracts with vendors and other 3rd parties. Prepare and monitor financial department budgets. To be successful in this role you will need: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in Information Technology or Computer Science/Engineering or a similar discipline from a reputable university. At least 12/15 years of experience with exposure to different aspects of IT, including at least 5 years in a senior managerial role in an IT environment (in a similar role). A combination of both in-house and consultancy experience is preferred. Strong functional and technical IT knowledge of infrastructure, networks, operations, applications & systems, security, cybersecurity, and developments. Good knowledge of the maritime industry/field and the related automated terminals management systems (i.e. but not limited to NAVIS, ORACLE Fusion, JADE, and Maximo). Strong knowledge of IT Governance and best practices. Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several large-scale projects. Advanced analytical and conceptual thinking. Excellent relationship-building skills and a ‘customer service orientated’ mindset. Strong project management and people management skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work with key stakeholders (government & private sector), senior executives, management team members, and external partners/advisors through collaboration and teamwork in a non-hierarchical relationship framework. Team spirit with a ‘hands-on’ and ‘can-do’ mentality. Experience working in the Middle East is a plus. Full proficiency in English.
