Requirements: Education Required: Bachelor Minimum Teaching Experience: 0 year of teaching experience Major: History, Geography, or International Studies Required Certificates: Teaching Credential/License Maintain accurate attendance and tardy records. Keep records of materials assigned to students. Complete inventory tasks, as required. Keep nurse folders accurate and available. Maintain up-to-date and attractive bulletin boards including student work. Foster a healthy and safe classroom environment. Report maintenance needs. Send photocopying with correct forms a minimum of three days ahead. Ensure the classroom remains tidy. Ensure shelves, tabletops, and desks are tidy. Begin and end classes on time so that timetables may be accurately followed. Provide extra assistance as needed. Provide positive classroom procedures, management, and records.  Submit all letters or notes to parents to the principal for review and approval before sending them to parents. Evaluate and report student progress as required by the principal. Progress Report each quarter Inform the counselor and/or parents of any change in their child’s behavior or academic progress as needed. Prepare, check, and mark homework assigned to students. Return graded homework to students promptly. Update grades in systems promptly. Plan regular field trips with the grade-level team according to field trip procedures. Assume other duties assigned by the principal. All plans should include outcomes, assessments, resources, vocabulary, and differentiation strategies.  All plans must be available for the Principal upon request and during the teacher’s absence. Maintain pupil records of achievement: anecdotal records, writing samples, homework completion, portfolios, and records of parent meetings. Use assessment results to determine the next steps of growth on a class-wide basis and for individual student growth. Plan and prepare assignments, experiments, assessments, demonstrations, teaching aids, bulletin boards, homework, etc. Plan, organize, and supervise students at assemblies and other special programs, making a professional contribution to overall school operation. Meet with parents, at teacher, parent, or principal’s request. Attend Parent/Teacher conferences, Open Houses/Orientation, and other such events, and as needed during the year. Maintain consistent, honest, and whenever possible, positive communication with parents throughout the year by responding to or initiating contact through phone calls, emails, meetings, or agenda notes. Work positively and professionally with all students and their families, but in particular, high-risk students, understanding that positive teacher/student/parent relationships are often a determinant of school success. Attend duties on time and take the opportunity to interact positively with students and parents. Show professional behavior at all times.
