Ensure consistent application of Store operating procedures and adherence to local Laws and Regulations. Monitor effective deployment of Field Operations teams across all trading hours. Report on the implementation of brand standards for all Divisions, identifying and applying Operating Best Practice and opportunities for Business efficiency in the Market. Engage Business Support Divisions, identifying risk, engaging support and agreeing action. Direct local function heads, acts as Senior authorising signatory and project manages major property developments. Report on activity that could impact on Business performance, resolve cross Business issues, applying authority to ensure a positive outcome for the Business. The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:Responsible for Managing the Operating environmentRepresent the Company at Regional level on Operating issues.Ensure that ALL stores in Market adhere to environmental, employment and Business Laws and Regulations.Act as the single point of contact in the Market for all regulatory matters, e.g. Trading Licenses, Promotional Licenses, issues arising from Ministry inspection, local Employment Law.Single point of contact in the Market for Loss Prevention, I.T., Logistics, Finance and Marketing Support Divisions. Brief local function heads on Business priorities and initiatives.Develop and maintain positive and productive working relations with Brands and Business Support Divisions, ensuring support divisions remain focused on store operations.Act as local authorising signatory to agreed Level of Authority (LOA).Locally direct contingency/disaster recovery, in liaison with Loss Prevention and Corporate Communications Department.Monitor operating costs of Country office. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, challenge unauthorised activity, monitor value for money.Work in liaison with People Core Services, Talent Acquisition & Mobility, Talent & Development teams and Government Relations to ensure current and future Operational needs of the Market are met. Set overall Country recruitment targets, reviews in conjunction with Area HR Managers, e.g.: Manpower planning, mass recruitment, induction training activity.Responsible for the overall Store Operations.Ensure consistent application of Store Operating Procedures across all Divisions, or for assigned brand clusters.Work with brand Operations across all brands to identify opportunities, plan recovery, re forecast Business Plans and to share Best Practice.Report on cross brand implementation of operational standards and processes in collaboration with brand Business Directors/Managers.Ensure the day-to-day operational activities of the field Operations teams are adequately covered, ensuring brand-operating standards are maintained and all trading hours are covered.Give direction and allocate resources to achieve/recover Business Plan performance.Responsible for Selecting, Managing and Developing people.Determine ongoing and long term store staffing requirements.Monitor training and development needs, implement appraisal programs and ensure performance management processes are implemented consistently.Set long term succession plan within assigned market.Decide resources required to meet Business Plan and opportunity.Monitor standards of competency for recruitment and performance management.Facilitate local succession planning for management vacancies.Support and advise on disciplinary matters, point of contact for appeals process.At request of HRD, provide timely, accurate data on local cost of living and competitor pay scales to support central review of Alshaya compensation and benefits package.Manage Communication and Brand relationsBe the first point of contact for the Alshaya Business for all Divisions.Ensure consistent application of brand operating and visual standards.Maintain positive working relationships with brand teams to optimise Business performance for assigned brand clusters, and other brand clusters present in Market.Suggest/ implement brand specific strategies to drive business.Actively monitor Market activities, communicating timely and accurate data on opportunities, risks and competitive market trends to relevant Divisions/brands.Resolve complex cross Business issues, applying authority, to ensure a positive outcome for the Business.Responsible for ‘On the ground” response to trading conditions, events and promotions.Set optimum trading hours to ensure high levels of service.First point of contact for incident reporting and Business continuity.Report on activity across Business support areas, identifying risk areas, engaging support and agreeing action when/where required.Responsible for Business DevelopmentLead major change and property development projects in the Market, e.g. Mall developments, store openings.
